Senior Advisory Council
The members of Medical Mutual's Senior Advisory Councils (SAC)
play an important role in the company's outreach efforts by serving as liaisons
to other seniors in their communities.
The Cleveland Area Council was formed in 1982. The Toledo Area
Council was formed in 1989. Both councils were formed to provide a means for
seniors to express their views on healthcare issues, discuss the kinds of
health insurance coverage they need and help seniors stay active and healthy.
An annual highlight of SAC activities is the Outstanding
Volunteer Awards luncheon, which recognizes and honors other seniors (who must
be at least 65 years old) for exemplary community service.
Community Bulletin Board
For the ninth consecutive year, Medical Mutual has demonstrated
its commitment to breast cancer awareness by hosting several events to raise
awareness about the disease and help fund research; which included a
community-wide Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch.
