Robert E. Rzewnicki

Chief Medical Officer

Robert Rzewnicki is Chief Medical Officer for Medical Mutual of Ohio, responsible for overseeing all clinical aspects of the Company's Care Management, Credentialing, Quality Improvement and Medical Policy functions.

Dr. Rzewnicki originally joined Medical Mutual in 1987 as Physician Advisor. He was named to his current position in 1993. In addition to his post at Medical Mutual, Dr. Rzewnicki has served as Director, Continuing Medical Education for St. Vincent Charity Hospital since 1986. He was appointed to the board of directors of UHHS/CSAHS- Cuyahoga, Inc., in 2000. He has maintained a clinical practice in rheumatology since 1981.

Dr. Rzewnicki earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Boston College in 1972 and an M.D. degree from the University of Connecticut in 1976. He completed his Categorical Medical Internship and his Junior and Senior Residency at MetroHealth Medical Center. From 1979 to 1980, he was Chief Medical Resident at MetroHealth, and he completed his Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology in 1981.

Dr. Rzewnicki is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Director of the Division of Rheumatology at St. Vincent Charity Hospital. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, the Cleveland Rheumatism Society and the Cleveland Bone Club.
