Michael P. Walker
Vice President, Sales and Customer Relations, Ohio Retirement Systems
Michael P. Walker is Vice President for Sales and Customer Relations for the Ohio Public Retirement System: State Teachers Retirement System, School Employees Retirement System, Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and Ohio State Highway Patrol Retirement System. In his new role, Mike will provide strategic leadership in the management of these accounts.
Mr. Walker was formerly Vice President, Medicare Markets for Medical Mutual of Ohio. In that role he was responsible for the development and launch of the Company’s Medicare Advantage Program.
Other responsibilities over his 10-year tenure with Medical Mutual included managing network and provider contracting as Director of Professional Contracting and Network Management, Northern Division. Before joining Medical Mutual in 1997, Mr. Walker was the Hospital and Ancillary Contract Administrator for Aetna Health Plans.
Mr. Walker has more than 22 years of experience in the healthcare delivery and health insurance fields. Prior to his work with these managed care firms, he held positions in business development, marketing research and communications with such hospitals as The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, MetroHealth Medical Center and Massillon Community Hospital.
Mr. Walker earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Akron.
