eHEALTHCARE HONORS MEDICAL MUTUAL WEB SITE WITH LEADERSHIP AWARD
eHealthcare Strategy & Trends recently recognized www.MedMutual.com, the Web site of Medical Mutual, with an award in the online publication's third annual Web site competition.
Medical Mutual was presented with a Silver Award in the category of Best Site Design for Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) and Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO). This is the fourth major award that the company's Web site has been honored with since its was redesigned in 2002.
eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, which reports on Internet management, presented healthcare organizations representing a wide industry spectrum with Leadership Awards in seven categories. Sites receiving recognition were selected from more than 1,000 entries. Eighty individuals judged the competition who are familiar with healthcare and the Internet.
“We are very proud to be recognized with such a prestigious award,” said Chris Hoffman, Medical Mutual's manager of Internet Communications. “We tried to design a Web site that was not only attractive in appearance, but one that our customers would find convenient and useful.”
Winners of platinum, gold, silver and distinction awards represented 16 industry classifications, from hospitals and health systems to pharmaceutical firms and online health companies. Judging criteria included graphic design, access to key information, branding and usability.
Judges looked at how sites compared with others in their organization's classification. They also reviewed sites based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence.
“Many very good sites did not win,” said Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. “The competition was especially fierce in the large hospital, healthcare system, and managed care classifications.”
