East 4th Street, Pedestrian Way Explodes in Color

Cleveland – East 4th Street, Cleveland’s trendy pedestrian way, famous for its restaurants, street patios and storefronts is bursting with colorful flowers, lush greenery and more than 100 beautiful planters.

This upscale streetscape, the result of a corporate collaboration, is a vibrant outdoor atmosphere teeming with color, making East 4th Street a must-see for visitors and everyone who works or lives downtown.

Under the direction of East 4th Street developer MRN Ltd., along with landscape architects McKnight and Associates engineered a $130,000 eye-catching urban garden which was aided by a $40,000 contribution from East 4th Street neighbor Medical Mutual of Ohio.

“We're proud of our neighborhood and our contribution is an investment in our own backyard,” said Jared Chaney, Mutual executive vice president. “To the east of our Cleveland headquarters is Huron Point Pard, which we invested in a few years ago. To our west, is East 4th Street which enhances the appearance of our neighborhood for the enjoyment of our employees,” said Chaney.

MRN's Ari Maron said Medical Mutual's contribution helped jump-start the streetscape project and avoid and delay. “We are happy this all came together in a time for the summer season because we always knew more could be done to enhance the appearance of the East 4th Street neighborhood,” said Maron. “We are thrilled with the result.”
