Medicare Supplement Insurance Eligibility and Enrollment

Explore whether you are eligible for Medicare Supplement insurance and how you can enroll. Getting started with Medicare Supplement insurance is simple and easy with Medical Mutual. Best of all, your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Eligibility

In order for you to be eligible for Medicare Supplement insurance, you must:

  • Be a permanent resident of and reside in the plan’s state for at least six months of each calendar year
  • Be age 65 or older
  • Be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B
  • Continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium

If you are eligible to buy Medicare Supplemental Insurance, there is a 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period. This starts when you are 65 years old and enrolled in both Medicare Parts A and B. This open enrollment period means you have the right to buy any Medicare Supplement insurance policy your state offers. Once you are enrolled, you are automatically guaranteed to be renewed each year, regardless of your health status, provided you pay your premiums.

The Medical Mutual Guarantee

We want you to be satisfied with your plan. If you decide during the first 30 days not to keep your Medicare Supplement insurance, simply return your policy along with a letter stating you do not want this coverage. If benefits have not been provided on the policy, you will be refunded the amount of your paid premium in full. If benefits have been provided, premiums will not be refunded.
