Find out whether you are eligible for Medicare Supplement insurance and how you can enroll. Getting started with Medicare Supplement insurance is simple with Medical Mutual.
Eligibility and Enrollment
To be eligible for Medicare Supplement insurance, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Be a permanent resident of and reside in the plan’s state for at least six months of each calendar year
- Be age 65 or older
- Be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B
- Continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium
If you're eligible to buy Medicare Supplemental insurance, the best time to apply for and purchase a plan is during the six-month open enrollment period. This period starts the first day of the month in which you turn 65 years old and are enrolled in both Medicare Parts A and B. During the open enrollment period, you can buy any Medicare Supplement insurance policy your state offers. Once you're enrolled, you're automatically guaranteed to be renewed each year, regardless of your health status, (as long as you pay your premiums).
The Medical Mutual Guarantee
At Medical Mutual, we want you to be satisfied with your plan. If you decide during the first 30 days not to keep your Medicare Supplement insurance, you can return your policy along with a letter stating you do not want this coverage. If benefits have not been provided on the policy, you will be refunded the amount of your paid premium in full. If benefits have been provided, premiums will not be refunded.
Please note: We recommend you keep your current insurance coverage until you receive your identification card to ensure you have continuous coverage.
