In 2020, the Ohio Department of Medicaid made changes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These changes included a new rule that allowed anyone currently enrolled in Medicaid to stay enrolled, even if they no longer met eligibility requirements. Effective April 1, 2023, Ohio will resume its normal operations and will require Medicaid members to meet the qualifications for the program.

Your Coverage Options

If you no longer meet the requirements for Medicaid and are losing your coverage, you will qualify for a Special Enrollment Period that allows you to enroll in a new health plan. There are a variety of health plan options to choose from depending on your situation.

Individual and Family ACA Coverage

MedMutual Individual and Family plans offer comprehensive health coverage as well as extra benefits like $0 prescription drugs, wellness rewards, pet wellness features and more. Plus, some coverage options even offer subsidies that can reduce your monthly premium to as low as $0 a month.

Short-term Health Coverage

If you miss your Special Enrollment Period, you may still enroll in short-term health coverage. Short-term plans can be purchased at any time of the year and offer flexible coverage lengths, up to 364 days.

Medicare Advantage Coverage

If you're 65 or older, you can enroll in a Medical Mutual Medicare plan.

Employer Coverage

If you are offered benefits through your employer, contact your Human Resources department for information on how to enroll.
