Don Olson
Director of Corporate Communications
Don Olson is Director of Corporate Communications for Medical Mutual. He is responsible for Internal Communications and Media Relations.
He joined Medical Mutual in 1997, and for 10 years served as Manager of Media Relations. Prior to joining Medical Mutual, Olson was a news reporter at WJW-TV in Cleveland for 13 years. During his stay at Channel 8, Olson was a producer in the I-Team before hitting the streets as a general assignment reporter and Akron Bureau Chief.
Before joining Channel 8 in 1984, Olson was a news reporter at a host of Cleveland and Akron radio stations, including WGAR, WWWE, WJW-AM 850, WHLO and WNIR.
After graduating from the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in 1981, Olson began his journalism career as a news reporter for WLHN/WHUT radio in Anderson, Indiana.
A four-time Emmy winner, Olson was elected to the Ohio Broadcaster's Hall of Fame in 2000. He is also the recipient of numerous awards from the Associated Press, United Press International and Cleveland Press Club. Since beginning his public relations career, Olson has also been recognized by the Public Relations Society of America and the Apex Award of Excellence. He is also active as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.
