MEDICAL MUTUAL'S REDESIGNED WEB SITE WINS GOLDEN WEB AWARD
CLEVELAND - The International Association of Webmasters and Designers (IAWMD) has awarded the 2002 Golden Web Award to www.MedMutual.com, the Web site of Medical Mutual.
Winners of the Golden Web Award are recognized for their commitment to the pursuit of Web site excellence.
“We built this site with the objective of giving our customers the tools they need to get answers to their questions more quickly and efficiently during times that fit their schedules,” said Kent Clapp, president, chairman and chief executive officer of Medical Mutual.
The Web site, which was recently redesigned, bundles Medical Mutual's state-of-the-art Internet tools for its members, brokers, providers and group officials in one site, providing around-the-clock access to vital information.
The Golden Web Award is judged by the IAWMD Voluntary Voting Committee. Members of the committee visit and score the Web sites submitted for the award. The sites are judged in three categories: design, content and originality.
MedMutual.com averages more than 83,000 visitor sessions a month, and the company expects that number to increase 30 percent as more customers take advantage of the updated site. The improved Web site brings Medical Mutual's well-known quality customer service to the Web with enhanced navigation tools, such as tab menus at the top of the home page that take users directly to where they want to go with the click of a mouse. Individualized pages accessed through www.MedMutual.com cater to the needs of members, brokers, group officials and providers. Each one is designed to offer the user complete information, convenience and privacy, saving valuable time and phone calls.
Some of the features on the site include:
- MyHealthPlan - an Internet-based customer service tool that allows members to review the status of their claims, change their address, order new identification cards, locate a doctor, change primary care physicians and access information about their pharmaceutical benefits program.
- MyBrokerLink.com - an Internet-based broker service tool that allows brokers to access forms, product information, and news about industry trends online. Medical Mutual's different levels of brokers have different levels of access to information on the secure and private site. The tool can be reached through the Medical Mutual Web site, or at www.mybrokerLink.com.
- ProviderLink - an Internet-based tool that was developed to give Medical Mutual's providers instant access to claims information, such as benefit-paid amounts, rejected claims, deductible and co-payment information; information on the doctors and hospitals that provided the care; policyholder and dependent data; and member eligibility information.
- ClaimsLink - an Internet-based tool that was created to give the company's group official customers the ability to provide a customer service function for their employees; view information about eligible policyholders and related claims; update dependent information; and request member identification cards.
- Web-based precertification - Doctors can precertify their Medical Mutual patients for procedures through the site, quickly and efficiently.
In addition to these customer service tools, the site provides tutorials to teach visitors how to use some of the features. The site also offers one dedicated sales phone number that anyone can call for sales information, regardless of state of location, group size or plan size.
The Medical Mutual newsroom allows members of the media and public to sign up for press release e-mail distribution and to access company information, product information, executive biographies, logos and digital head shots.
Improved graphics on the site reflect the company's latest ad campaign tagline, “Health Plans for Life,” and load more quickly than the pared-down graphics on the old site. Medical Mutual subsidiary Antares Management Solutions contributed in the design and development of the enhanced site.
