How Medical Mutual and Kent State Partnered to Prioritize Senior Health

In 2025, Kent State University’s College of Public Health published the Community Health Needs Assessment for Older Adults, a project funded by Medical Mutual to better understand the health-related challenges older adults face across Northeast Ohio.
With input from more than 800 participants, the assessment identified key priorities, including social isolation, loneliness and mental health. The findings offer a foundation for future programming and policy development — both for Medical Mutual and for community partners supporting aging populations. Just as importantly, the assessment ensures that older adults have a voice in shaping the path forward.
As Ohio’s hometown health insurer, Medical Mutual’s commitment to care extends far beyond providing coverage — it reaches into the heart of the communities we serve. We’re committed to addressing the needs of our neighbors across Ohio with care and confidence each step of the way. Want to learn more about how Medical Mutual continues to be the difference?
