Medical Mutual helps combat food insecurity through innovative programs with organizations like the University of Toledo. The university’s Rocket Community Meals initiative repurposes surplus lunches from its medical center into ready-to-eat meals for seniors in need. Since spring 2025, more than 1,500 meals have been delivered, thanks to volunteers and partners like United Way of Greater Toledo and Pathways, Inc. By simultaneously reducing food waste and addressing hunger, Rocket Community Meals demonstrates how small shifts can create lasting change for those who are often overlooked.
