Description   Medicare Advantage plans are health plans offered by private insurance companies that have contracted with Medicare to provide Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) benefits.  Medicare Supplement Insurance plans are offered by private companies to help pay some or all of the out-of-pocket costs that Medicare doesn't cover, like copayments, coinsurance and deductibles.
Is Prescription Drug (Part D) Included?  Yes

Many Medicare Advantage Plans, including Medical Mutual’s plans, include Part D prescription drug coverage.
No

To get prescription drug coverage, you must buy a Part D plan separately.
Are Additional Benefits Included?  Yes

Many Medicare Advantage Plans, including Medical Mutual’s plans, offer additional health and wellness benefits (including a fitness program) and optional dental and vision coverage.

However, some plans cover medical care when traveling outside of the United States.

Eligibility Information   Must have Medicare Part A and Part B, continue to pay the Part B premium and live in the service area. Plans accept all applicants except those with End-Stage Renal Disease (some exceptions)  Must have Medicare Part A and Part B, continue to pay the Part B premium and live in the plan’s state at least 6-months of each year. Applicants that enroll during their Initial Open Enrollment Period will have guaranteed acceptance and pricing.
What Doctors and Hospitals Can I Visit?   You must use providers in the plan’s network (except in an emergency). Different types of plans have different networks:

HMO plans: You can only visit in-network providers and referrals may be required for certain services or specialists.

PPO plans: You can visit any provider, but out-of-network providers will cost you more.
 You can visit any provider who accepts Medicare patients.
Is This Plan Renewable?   You remain in a plan unless you disenroll, but the plan’s benefits may change yearly. Yes

You have guaranteed renewal as long as you pay your premium and your application was correct. Benefits never change.
