MedMutual Dental Insurance FAQs

Can I purchase a MedMutual Dental insurance plan without having medical coverage?
Yes, a dental plan can be purchased as standalone coverage. You may want to consider purchasing medical insurance to enhance your overall coverage.

What services do MedMutual Dental plans cover?
It depends on the plan you choose. Our plans cover many basic services like preventive care, fillings and extractions, plus major services like crowns and root canals. A copay may be required for certain services.

Is there a limit to what dental plans will pay every year?
Most dental insurance plans have an annual maximum benefit. All of our plans have a maximum benefit of $1,000 per year.

Can I add a child to my dental plan?

Is there a waiting period before I can get dental services once I’m enrolled?
Preventive services have no waiting periods, meaning you can use these services as soon as your coverage begins. If you had no prior coverage before enrolling in a MedMutual Dental plan, you will have a 6-month waiting period for basic services and a 12-month waiting period for major services.
