Dedication to Diversity
- Medical Mutual offers opportunities to engage employees year-round with diversity and inclusion efforts, such as educational programming, paid-time-off to volunteer, employee-led Business Resource Groups and inclusion training.
- Medical Mutual understands the importance of recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce, which starts by building a pipeline through our internship program, where nearly half of the participants are from minority populations. We also are committed to interviewing at least one minority and one female candidate when recruiting for leadership positions. This, among other efforts, has resulted in Medical Mutual being 29% racially diverse, which is 45% more diverse than the population in the state of Ohio.
- Medical Mutual employees donated 5,800 volunteer hours in 2018 throughout the state of Ohio, helping local nonprofits strengthen the communities where we live and work. In addition, Medical Mutual executives hold leadership roles on over 50 nonprofit boards.
Medical Mutual’s involvement in the community dates back to our founding in 1934 as one of the nation’s first health insurers. Today, we support hundreds of nonprofit and charitable organizations each year through employee volunteerism, sponsorships and contributions.
