Q: What are the Outstanding Senior Volunteer Awards?

A: For more than 30 years, the Medical Mutual Outstanding Senior Volunteer Awards have celebrated older adults who volunteer their time and talents to help others and better their communities. After a brief hiatus, the awards are returning in fall 2022.

Q: When are nominations due?

A: Please submit nominations by July 5, 2022.

Q: What happens if the award ceremony is canceled due to public health concerns?

A: Medical Mutual is striving to make these in-person events as safe as possible for our guests. If a ceremony must be canceled, Medical Mutual will notify all award recipients and attendees as soon as possible. An alternate form of recognition will take place and recipients will still receive with their awards.

Q: Will the ceremony be open to the public?

A: In-person attendance will be by personal invitation only.

Q: Are self-nominations accepted?

A: Yes. Please indicate that you are making the nomination on your own behalf by clicking the appropriate box when completing the full form.

Q: What ages are eligible?

A: We are accepting nominations for those who are 60 and older.

Q: Are past nominees allowed to enter?

A: Yes. Please submit a new nomination form with past and recent accomplishments for consideration.

Q: How will honorees be selected?

A: A diverse committee of Medical Mutual employees will review the nominations and score them based on several criteria, such as length of service, additional accolades and overall impact.

Q: Will nominees be notified ahead of the ceremony if they have been chosen?

A: Yes.

Q: What are the eligibility requirements for nominees?

A:

  • Nominees must be at least 60 years old and engaged in a volunteer activity for a minimum of one year.
  • Volunteer activities do NOT have to be done on behalf of an organization.
  • Nominators may submit up to three nominations per year.
  • Nominees are NOT required to carry Medical Mutual insurance.
  • Previous award winners may not be nominated again.
