In the previous blog article, we talked about the “extras” Medicare Advantage plans can offer their members. These extras include things like wellness programs, over-the-counter items and benefits after a hospital stay.

Knowing what extras are available can help you make a decision about which plan to choose. That’s why we wanted to share some of the new benefits Medical Mutual will make available in 2021.

Medical Mutual is proud to offer Medicare Advantage plans with:

Additional Dental Coverage

Our 2021 plans will now include preventive dental coverage with no copays. That includes two exams, two cleanings and one x-ray per year.

Increased Over-the-counter Allowance

To make it easier to get the medicine cabinet essentials you need like aspirin, cough medicine and bandages, we've extended the Simply Supplies over-the-counter benefit to the following plans and increased the number of items available:

  • MedMutual Advantage Classic HMO* - $100 every three months
  • MedMutual Advantage Signature HMO - $125 every three months
  • MedMutual Advantage Secure HMO - $150 every three months

*Not available in the following counties: Adams, Allen, Auglaize, Champaign, Clinton, Coshocton, Crawford, Darke, Defiance, Erie, Fayette, Gallia, Guernsey, Hardin, Harrison, Henry, Highland, Huron, Jackson, Knox, Lawrence, Logan, Mercer, Monroe, Noble, Ottawa, Paulding, Pike, Preble, Putnam, Richland, Ross, Sandusky, Scioto, Shelby, Van Wert, Vinton, Washington, and Williams.

Continued Coverage for Telehealth

With COVID-19, you may have embraced seeing a doctor or nurse virtually from the comfort of your home. Our plans in 2021 will continue to cover telehealth (telemedicine) so you can stay safe while getting the expert care you need.

New $0 Copay for Annual Physicals

We are now providing an annual physical exam with your Primary Care Provider (PCP) at no additional cost to you. Both a physical and your annual wellness exam help your PCP get a full picture of your current health.
